WEEK 14

Continued with Flash 8 today! We familiarised ourselves with making Quizzes Had a pretty tough time with Drag and drop. Slowly took the time to figure out the how it all worked. But I'm glad i figured it out in the end! Ms Nah even said it looked impressive! YAY.

Better start doing the APEL topic soon! Forgot to bring it this week.

Kinda slacked this week I think, but I feel alot more satisfied this week. I think I'm beginning to get the hang of things now. I hope I have enough time to do a nice E-learning package!

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP MS NAH! (:

WEEK 13

JUST FOUND OUT THAT MS NAH'S BOSS WAS SITTING BEHIND THE ENTIRE FIRST HOUR! Oh me gosh! I feel so embarrassed, according to Ms Nah I was chatty, but somehow, I don't really remember. :s

And yes, I'm blogging in class! Everyone is playing around with their Final Presentation slides but.......I kinda forgot which topic I was doing. Oops. Going home to check (:

It's 4.48pm now and MS NAH JUST REMINDED US TO UPDATE OUR BLOG! *waves* HAHA.

Anyway, the last thing we learnt was about the Common Libraries, Learning interactions for Quizzes. After all our hard work today, Ms Nah finally decided to tell us that TEMPLATES existed. So all our struggling when there were wonderfully pre-made designs! SIGH.

Just continued to do my Flash from last week to add buttons, navigations, transitions and make the wheel spin! WEE.

Note: the primary one quiz looks so nice now compared to when we were shown it in the first few weeks. Cos' now, I know how hard I'd be struggling to make a nice design like that!

OKAY! I'm off, will continue this at home! LOOK OUT FOR WEEK12 Part B!!! xD

WEEK 12

Today was a continuation of the previous Flash 8. Ms Nah was so kind enough to give us a WONDERFUL New Year present.........

LAB GUIDE SHEETS FOR MACROMEDIA FLASH8.

Say.. WOW!

Anyway, instead of a circle, we started with a polystar instead! But well, this was just the beginning of a very very tedious day of Flash. *pulls a long face. Sadly, we've just got to get the hang of the program. We HAVE to because we'll be needing it for our project later on. A basic Flash presentation with animations and buttons and all.

The sample given for the buttons and we had to edit them. Kinda likedthe fact that it changed colour when the mouse went over it. Pretty impressive stuff! Learnt to edit the button and animate it as well. Of course, the most important part was adding navigations to websites or another page on the presentation and such. Not to forget, we had to test the SWF file as well.

The last part of the lab was cool. Was giving the skeleton of one of the Flash presentations Ms Nah showed us before of some cars. We had to go through the tutorial to learn more functions such as saving a picture in the library so it could be copied to be used if need be throughout the presentation. Editting any library graphic and saving it would also affect all copies used.

We also had to play around with the wheel. I only got as far at changing the rotation angle and speed before class ended. Saw a cool example where the wheel fades!

Mmm. Maybe I could try it out next week! Oh I sure hope it doesn't get too hard though. *Crosses fingers*

WEEK 7

This week, we touched on the basics of Macromedia Flash 8!

For starters Ms Nah showed us what a Flash file was and what the program could do. Then it was up to us to read the introduction off OLE and play around with the software. I never touched on ANYTHING to do with Flash before, but it was all rather interesting.

The simple animation wasn't too simple for me at first, but soon enough, I got the ball rolling! (LITERALLY!) Realised it was all about the converting to symbols and just pulling the ball to different positions on the board at different time-frames. I got even more excited when my ball could bounce, and to end it all, I made a second ball bounce across the screen at the same time then both merging and disappearing! Oh, the satisfaction! But I got a bit disheartened when I saw people around me morphing their circles into squares and funny faces! Oh well. This wasn't their first time!

Next, we had to do a Flash banner. Ms Nah said it was all about understanding the frames and stuff. Honestly I started getting a little confused from here onwards. Unlike the first exercise, we had to overlap two different banners. There was a lot of Motion Tweening and time-frame adjusting to be done to get the blinking and cool effects. But truth be told, I DID IT! Yes, I think my banner looked pretty cool too! (:

Finally, the last task was making a spotlight effect on the Singapore Zoological Gardens' Logo. I think this was the COOLEST ONE OF ALL! I barely grasped the concept of all the layers and masking, but still I managed make a spotlight! We had to make 3 main layers. First layer was the coloured logo, then the black and white logo and finally the layer of a circle that was to be the spotlight. The spotlight layer was rather similar to the first exercise where we had to roll the ball around. And with the patience and help of my wonderful lab partner Syawal and Ms Nah, I MADE A SPOTLIGHT ANIMATION EFFECT!

I think Flash is a rather tedious but the results sure make it all worthwhile! Kinda hope to learn more interesting Flash tricks. WEE

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
(and happy reading too Ms Nah! CHEERS)

WEEK 6

As i was MC for the previous lesson, I missed out on the lab practice for Hot Potatoes. Luckily I was given a practice sheet to try out though. Managed to make a quiz, crossword and a cloze in the end! Satisfying (:

I'm going to finish up my powerpoint slides hopefully by tomorrow and add audio into my slides. I don't think there'll be enough time to put my narrations in, so I'm resorting to just some nice music.

Off to do my linking! I'll leave my Breeze conversion for Friday I suppose~

I'M OFF!
